Independence Youth Cycling (IYC) is thrilled to announce its participation in the Riverfront North Partnership’s (RNP) third annual Fish Fest, set for June 1, 2024. IYC will be hosting youth-focused Skills Clinics and Guided Rides during the event. This initiative is designed to introduce youth to cycling, aiming to spark interest in the sport, promote team building, and highlight local cycling events and competitions.
Fish Fest will be held at the Frankford Boat Launch, a picturesque riverfront park nestled along the Delaware River and marking the end point of the K&T trail. The festival is dedicated to showcasing the recreational opportunities that the riverfront has to offer, and Independence Youth Cycling is eager to contribute to this celebration for the first time. Located in a densely populated urban section of Philadelphia, the event represents a prime opportunity to roll out new programs and engage with diverse and underserved communities in the area.
By participating in Fish Fest, IYC not only aims to raise awareness about cycling as a competitive and team sport but also to connect with the community, introducing them to the joys and benefits of cycling. This aligns with our broader mission to foster a love for cycling among the youth, encouraging physical activity, teamwork, and a connection with the outdoors in urban settings.
