Become a Sponsor
Your sponsorship helps keep costs as low as possible, enabling more kids to participate. Sponsorship supports need-based youth scholarships; community outreach activities (like learn-to-bike programs); team safety gear, activities, and equipment; coach development programs; and more. And in return, we work hard to support our sponsors! Independence Youth Cycling is a 501(c)(3) organization and gifts are tax-deductible.
- Sponsorship is a great way to increase the visibility of your business in the local community
- We partner with you to provide promotional value beyond just your logo on a T-shirt
- Independence/SoMont/Philly Wiss is very active on social media and regularly promotes
sponsors on Facebook, Instagram, at community events through signage, etc.
Please see the overview that explains the different sponsorship levels and corresponding promotional opportunities from Independence.

Donate bikes, helmets, and equipment
We don’t want the lack of a bike or equipment to keep any kid from experiencing the health and social benefits of biking! To this end, we’re building a small “fleet” of mountain bikes that we can use with our clinics and/or loan to individual athletes. If you have a good-quality, mountain or hybrid bicycle in your garage that’s collecting dust, bring it our way and we’ll put it to good use (and you can take a tax deduction, too!). And, we’re always looking for good-quality mountain bike parts to keep things running smoothly.
Safety is at the forefront of our minds when riding bikes with youth. We require every participant to have a helmet on as soon as they step over the top tube of the bicycle. Other items like eye protection and gloves are helpful, too.Have a safe, solid helmet you can donate? A pair of gloves? Eye protection? We’ll take ’em!
Recently, we participated in the Tookany Tacony Frankford Watershed Partnership’s Tacony Creek Park Block Party where youth from North Philadelphia neighborhoods such as Olney, Oak Lane, and Feltonville were introduced to mountain biking for the first time. And kids on our NICA teams have also benefited from the provision of mountain bikes that allowed them to take part in our team programs.
Donate your time as a volunteer, coach or ride assistant
Do you want to share your passion for cycling with the next generation? Reach out to us and ask about coaching or assisting with ride groups! You don’t need much (or any) mountain biking experience: we’ll teach you everything you need to know!
Riding bikes with kids and organizing cycling activities can often feel like “herding cats”! We’re always on the lookout for a helping hand. No biking expertise necessary! Contact us to learn more.
